I picked this quote by Robert Adams because it most accurately describes the only necessities for photography. I often find things that would be great to capture with a SLR, but I don't usually it with me. But when I do have my camera, I see everything around me in a new way. Typically, when you see something like a ripped up soccer ball that had washed up on the edge of a pond, you would think that it makes the place around it less valuable, but when I have a camera with me, that ball is worth as much as gold. My inspiration doesn't come from what is around me, but what I have in my hands. I like to explore the possibilities that my camera provides me.
This quote about photography is my favorite because it accurately describes my attitude while I have a camera in my hands: You don't have to be in a picture perfect place, to make a picture perfect.
